The problem with big map transfers
As far as I know, the way the system works for transfering maps between the host and it's clients is simple:
- The host uploads the map to a number of clients until they've successfully downloaded that map.
But if you have a really big map, say 1.5-3.0 megs, and 4 clients, that equals to as much as 12MB of data the host needs to send altogether.
Maybe a possible solution would be to create some sort of a simple p2p system for the map transfers?
For example, the host starts sending the map to the first client. As the client…

Join into a game after network drop
Let someone reconnect from a network drop and let the hoster decide to pause the game and wait for the person, or continue without the person who dropped out.

Add a simple VoIP chat into WormNET
This could be done using external servers and by selecting a player (with F1,F2 etc.) and then pressing down a button while talking (next time you press the button you will talk to the same person that you have selected)

Reading the lobby's old messages
When you join the game and see that there is a lot of players already in the lobby, probably they wrote a lot of things before you join them. With some schemes, the hoster need to write the same message (for exemple descritions or rules of the scheme) for each new player in the lobby. It would be nice to see all the messages written in the lobby before you join the host. They could also receive a different color.

Add democratic player kicking for online games
Like in starcraft where a majority of people have to vote to boot a lagger, if all players type "/kick username" (or the player's #, like with wormkit's kicking feature) into the chatbox then that player is dropped. It would be harder to abuse this than when only the host has the kicking authority. This way even one person could refuse to kick, which would prevent the kicking of someone who doesn't really deserve it (ie: they're slightly noobish).

Global chat in game lobby
In WMD the global lobby chat is also accessible in the game lobby. Would be nice to have this in WA as well, so that you can call out a buddy who's left behind in #AnythingGoes without needing to exit the game lobby or switch to snooper. And also to advertise open spaces when nobody joins up.

MOD's power
I think that a MOD of a tournament should be able to kick people , stop chat or anything else.
He/she could do that by asking you some hours/days before for x time in PT or RH.
