Allow players to use a team cursor that the enemy team can't see.
In a game as complex as worms, it is often difficult to describe to your teammate the plan you had in mind. This might be due to weird land formations, lack of good English, or other confusing factors. A team cursor would be an effective tool to properly and accurately communicate to your team. This cursor would be invisible to the enemy team so they can't see what you're trying to map out against them. Is this kind of thing viable? Or is there some kind of gameplay issue undernear that would make something like this impossible?

This is indeed a planned feature. Instead of merely giving you a cursor, the plan is to allow you to draw lines and curves freehand, superimposed on the map (but not limited to being inside the map). Remote players will see the cursor as it moves and draws.
It will work much like chatting; you'll be able to hide scribble (similarly to how you can hide chat with PageUp). Scribble will be recorded in replay files, and once a game is over you'll be able to see your enemies' Team Scribble in playback (as well as your own team's, of course).

There's a planned feature on the 4.x idea dump page (http://worms2d.info/4) that should cover what you're after. It's in the Gameplay section and goes like this:
# Scribble feature (allow people to scribble on the viewport, even not during their turn; superimposed on the map, but not limited to being inside the map)
It's definitely one of the top things I'm looking forward to, not least of all for pointing out grenade shot arcs. :D
