Add weapon power settings to in-game weapon panel
Sometimes it's not easy to memorize your host's weird weapon power preferences. It would be useful if these settings could be seen in-game too, not only in the lobby.
Addiotionally, maybe instead of showing the "star-power", the amount of maximum damage could be displayed (or one projectile's damage for multi-projectile weapons like cluster, air strike, etc.)
Damage doesn’t mean anything for some weapons… and most of the time the maximum theoretical damage (considering the RNG may generate any sequence of numbers) isn’t anywhere near the maximum practical damage.
Also, I’d like to see an idea / concept design of how would power levels would be displayed.
Update: this idea should be mostly obsoleted by our plans for 4.0 to allow viewing the scheme settings during the game, and the scheme comparator in the game lobby.

or weapon panel, bottom right, outline of a star followed by x1, x2, x3 etc. up to 255 because some morons like going above 15.

the power can be shown on the top of the screen where u set the time and the bounce (ex: grenade 5 sec MIN bounce [power=5])

Once the fiddler-style customisation is added, it'll be impossible and unhelpful to say 'this weapon typically does X damage'. If there's a way of summarising a weapon clearly and succinctly in text or graphics then that would be useful for explaining schemes and would make a nice 'expanded status bar' style panel to summarise weapons somewhere.

Isn't this also a problem for the weapon screen? The graphics there are broken in case of extra power levels. Showing a 0-255 number for these instead wouldn't be too helpful, because their effect is rather random. I guess they would have to be "rounded" to the closest matching 1-5 level.

FFie's idea is nice but how would it incorporate the extra power levels that an external editor can provide? Quite a few schemes seem to use those extra power levels now... and invariably they're the ones that players get 'caught out' on.

Or when you hold a key, the weapon panel could turn into something like this so you can see everything at the same time:

I think the best option would be to show the power level when needed, for example pressing and holding a key to switch between number of weapons and power levels.
ConceptI suggest the levels be displayed in yellow, to distinguish between the two.
