There's a planned feature on the 4.x idea dump page (http://worms2d.info/4) that should cover what you're after. It's in the Gameplay section and goes like this:

    # Scribble feature (allow people to scribble on the viewport, even not during their turn; superimposed on the map, but not limited to being inside the map)

It's definitely one of the top things I'm looking forward to, not least of all for pointing out grenade shot arcs. :D

Skip Go, yes. Maybe. But you definitely can't allow surrendering after a shot is taken, that would break all competitive 2v2 schemes, most notably perhaps Roper.

Teeworlds does it with a neat circular menu that you summon by pressing and holding down one key, which displays a pointer with which you can select any of the emotes. Either clicking on one or letting go of the key while hovering over one makes the little speech bubble with the image pop out.

Removing both camera following and sounds made could drastically change the power of the Invisibility utility. I certainly think at least sounds should stay, because it isn't logical for them not to be there.

Other than that, yes, camera panning can give you out, but it's never going to be very precise. You get an advantage anyway.

There are players out there, of course, who consider the subconscious feeling of when the retreat time is going to end in each scheme a skill.

Just saying... this should probably be a scheme setting, if it makes it in at all.

I'd rather have an icon appear in the corner of the screen, like the little phone indicating chat activity. That would feel a little more consistent, I suppose, though it would mean extra work to make it look pretty and not break things. An option to turn it off would of course also be welcome.

explorer09: I don't see that as a reason against implementing the option. If it's meant for non-time trial Rope Races [where worm selection is always enabled] only and clearly marked as such, it wouldn't hurt having it in there as an option.

And who's to say the setting couldn't engender a new type of scheme altogether someday...

I’m not sure Team17 will let us to just add stuff from the other games, but we can look into implementing custom landscapes, and make those file formats importable.

It would be much easier to do this outside W:A, kind-of-like a retranslation bot. That would resolve all the UI design and protocol issues. Would that work as a compromise?

Damage doesn’t mean anything for some weapons… and most of the time the maximum theoretical damage (considering the RNG may generate any sequence of numbers) isn’t anywhere near the maximum practical damage.

Also, I’d like to see an idea / concept design of how would power levels would be displayed.

Update: this idea should be mostly obsoleted by our plans for 4.0 to allow viewing the scheme settings during the game, and the scheme comparator in the game lobby.
