If you’d like to see this idea implemented, we need to decide when each of these sounds should be played. The proposed idea (100% practical damage, possibly at long distances) is good but it doesn’t mention how the sound is chosen. It’d be nice to get a discussion going with some ideas for each, but nothing too hard to implement. You may want to also check how these sounds appear in other soundbanks, as well.

I say have them like this:
Brilliant = Kill the final worm to an enemy team (killing off an enemy team).
Excelent = Kill 4-5 worms with a single shot.
Amazing = Kill 6+ worms with a single shot.
Perfect = Kill a worm outrigth from full starting HP or more (not awarded if the worm went in the water)

I also have never heard the goaway or leavemealone speeches either. Are they too unused or just too impractical to hear?

Currently when I play WA, my 2 rear speakers are unused, they play no sound. (I have 5.1 surround sound setup).

I think it would be great if the game could use those 2 speakers and have them play the ingame background music - the front speakers could still play the music too. So all speakers end up playing the music but only the front ones should play the sound effects.

The small background image at the bottom which can be removed by taking down the background detail. With the ingame colour maps this image is of white mountains.
I always rememberd it being bigger in W2 and today decided to look it up. In W2 that background image is definetly taller as you can see detail on it that's not visable in WA. Check gamespot, they have a screen shot on both W2 and WA of the sports theme, so you can conpair easily. In W2, this background image is also lighter but I guess that was done to give a wider contrast with the terrain.

I don’t feel that adding hard-coded gameplay mechanics elements, such as weapons, is part of our goal. This might happen when support for custom weapons (a-la Fiddler) will be added.

Edit: maybe I should make it clear that just because someone drew these sprites, it’s still not trivial to add them as new weapons. They need to be converted, palletized, added to the graphics archives and redistributed, not to mention all the game engine changes required to make these work.

I’m not sure Team17 will let us to just add stuff from the other games, but we can look into implementing custom landscapes, and make those file formats importable.
