    If you’d like to see this idea implemented, we need to decide when each of these sounds should be played. The proposed idea (100% practical damage, possibly at long distances) is good but it doesn’t mention how the sound is chosen. It’d be nice to get a discussion going with some ideas for each, but nothing too hard to implement. You may want to also check how these sounds appear in other soundbanks, as well.

    i don't think it even needs to be over great distance. i mean a perfect zook against a hard wind even if the worm is on a ledge just above is still achievement. easy to get 90% but a headshot is always a headshot. with shotgun however great distance should be required cos it really isn't that hard to pretty much always get 25hp damage

    no noob should be allowed to place worms of other teams of course. when it comes time to place ur first worm you could right click and that would place all the worms of YOUR team in the same spot. others would do the same. simple enough

    not just of the selected map, but it goes through all the maps in the main \savedlevels\ folder doing something, as the amount of maps there has direct result to the load times.

    anyway this would make hosting online much much faster as well because that's the most time consuming thing to open up the editor and browse for a map. some sort of search function would make sense too

    won't that make it slower to load the menu then? since it always takes few seconds to get in the map editor thing. i could set the delay shorter by arranging the maps into several folders though (Roper, BnG, BnA etc), inside \User\SavedLevels\

    This is a complicated question. We intend to add this for 4.0, however this is complicated by that it’d be too easy to annoy people with custom soundbanks -therefore they must be easily mute-able.

    it's definitely a long awaited addition and it'll add more interest for people to make custom soundbanks.

    and if they make annoying ones just have an easy way of changing this person's soundbank to sound like the default soundbank on ur computer instead of muting it completely

    and yeah franpa if they're planning to have the maps graphics load while game has already started on a simpler outlined non textured map they can have the soundbanks loaded in same manner

    the minimap would probably work better in rope race & tower race and other big maps than zooming. it's zoom level has to be able to adjusted and to be left on during game if wished to

    i hope it's quick to use so u can use it during tower or bigrr. in those u need a simple 1 button system to zoom out temporarily. i don't think minimap is necessary if the settings for the zoom can be changed to adjust how much to zoom, and that it's quick to use of course.

    that's nice, atleast for the new maps it will be fine then, let's hope it's simple enough for every map maker to do it. but what about all the hundreds of old maps already on wmdb?

    i know there's many more people wanting this feature than who come to this forum. this implemented well will make starting games a breeze, instead of wait of sometimes up to 5mins+. i play mainly towers and i've seen there's often someone joining the game who doesn't have a fast download, or then it's bad connection between the host and player. kicking them is one solution, but wouldn't u rather there be a better solution? also there's people who use hostingbuddy simply because their upload isn't that good, but using hostingbuddy should not be preferred choice.

    btw no matter how cool cybershadow's idea sounds, i'm not in favor of the map loading incrementally because it can cause problems for example knowing where to teleport, if u can't read the START text anywhere in the texture yet. it's nicer to start with the complete map atleast.

    i see plenty of people quitting simply because the map is too big and taking ages to load. but if they only had to load it once they just might think it's worthwhile to wait for it, since then they can get it instantly in the future

    yeah and perhaps add an option to limit the size used for this temporary map files. so incase u don't want it to grow huge (have small hard-disk) u can set it to like 1gb or something and then the oldest maps will be deleted automatically to keep the size 1gb. I however would set it to unlimited :D

    checksums check are a must cos there's already different versions of same map, and also maps with same names / dimensions.

    zarxrax. it's gonna be hard when there's no buttons next to enter backspace shift area to be used for those extra jumps.

    for u simply remapping ur button next to enter as another enter then u'd just press 2 buttons almost at same time to make a backjump should work. also change the button next to backspace into another backspace to do quick backflips. or just learn to tap very fast. or simply just be careful not to do backjump when time is near 0sec

    oh and teleport is often needed incase it's a long map and ur 1st worm dies and startin over would make no sense cos u might just as well quit

    oh yeah sometimes there's some near background color pixels in the way. but anyway more important is if this feature from teststuff could be separately loaded, like batty can be for example. it's no fun loading the whole teststuff cos u don't want the rest of the things from there

    lol this is just mad. it brings in my mind those games from W2 where some1 set minigun to do huge 2x the size of holy hand grenade shots with 3rd party scheme editor, totally destroying the whole map in front of him.

    even if worms reloaded has it show all the time it doesn't mean wa should. it really is a skill to time your retreat without actually seeing the time. i can pretty much do this for 10s retreat myself in towers, but anything longer than that will already cause problems for timing. but surely adding an option to show it or not show it in options of the scheme would be fine.

    yeah totally great idea. but how to add that area in the .png map when u're editing the map i wonder? or perhaps just open the map in wa and add the area there?
